England beat Pakistan by five wickets to claim their second T20 world title. They become the first men's team to hold the 20-over and 50-over formats simultaneously.
England's victory was set up by a superb bowling performance, with Sam Curran taking 3/12 and Adil Rashid 2/22. Pakistan were restricted to 137/8 from their 20 overs, a total that England chased down with six balls to spare.
Ben Stokes was the hero for England with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 52 from 49 balls. He was supported by Jos Buttler (26) and Alex Hales (20), who both made important contributions.
Pakistan will be disappointed to have lost, but they can take heart from their performance in the tournament. They were the surprise package, reaching the final after beating some of the best teams in the world.
England, meanwhile, will be delighted to have won their second T20 World Cup title. They are now one of the most successful teams in the shortest format of the game.
