Brazils Victory Marks Their Third World Championship Title

Volleyball: Brazil Beats Serbia to Win Women's World Championship

Brazil's victory marks their third World Championship title.

Serbia was looking to win their second consecutive title.

Brazil defeated Serbia 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-22) in the final of the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship on Saturday in Apeldoorn, Netherlands. This is Brazil's third World Championship title, their first since 2014.

Brazil was led by Gabi Guimaraes, who scored 20 points. Serbia was led by Tijana Boskovic, who scored 18 points.

Brazil controlled the match from the start, winning the first set 25-23. They then cruised to a 25-16 victory in the second set. Serbia made a run in the third set, but Brazil held on to win 25-22.

Brazil's victory is a major upset, as Serbia was the defending champion and had won the last two World Championships. Brazil is now the only team to have won three Women's World Championships.

The victory is also a major boost for Brazil's confidence heading into the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
